Graphic Equalizer

 

 

1) Frequency Band (FREQ)

Press the Frequency button to sequentially access each band on the equalizer. Use the Frequency Band Level +/- buttons (7) to adjust each band to the desired boost or cut. After you have made the adjustment, press the Frequency Band button again to set the first and move to the second frequency band, and so on. If you wait more then five seconds before making a further adjustment, the equalizer will automatically return to the mode of operation last selected.

2) Digital Display

Displays all the information relevant to the Graphic Equalizer.

3) Defeat (DEFEAT)

The Graphic Equalizer will automatically turn on with the audio system power is turned on. To turn the Graphic Equalizer off while the audio system is on, press the Defeat button. The Digital Display (2) will show 'Defeat' and will indicate a flat response. Press the Defeat button again to resume Graphic Equalizer operation. Note: When the Graphic Equalizer is on, the bass and treble functions on the radio will will be overridden, unless the Defeat button is pressed.

4) Preset Memory Buttons (1-4)

There are four memory presets available. To set the preset buttons, set the equalizer frequency bands as desired, then push and hold one of the Preset Memory Buttons for two seconds. Pushing buttons 1 through 4 will return the Graphic Equalizer to the preset frequency in that memory. When a memory preset is selected, the appropriate memory 'MEM1' through 'MEM4' will show on the Digital Display (2).

5) Pre-Programmed Select (SELECT)

The Graphic Equalizer is equipped with five pre-programmed equalization settings for various types of music. The music types available are jazz, rock, pop, vocal, and classical. Press the Pre-Programmed Select button to access any of these settings. The selected music type will appear on the Digital Display (2).

6) Display Select (DISPLAY)

The Display Select button allows you to switch between the spectrum analyzer display mode and the equalization setting display mode on the Digital Display (2). After setting the equalizer, the Digital Display (2) will display the equalization setting for a few seconds, then switch to the spectrum analyzer mode. Pressing the Display Select button will switch the mode to show the equalization setting. Pressing the Display Select button again will switch it back to the spectrum analyzer mode.

7) Frequency Band Level (LEVEL +/-)

Use the Frequency button (1) to select the desired frequency band to adjust. Then press the Frequency Band Level + button to boost the selected level, or the Frequency Band Level - to cut the selected level. There is not right or wrong way to set the frequency bands; it is a matter of preference. However, some suggestions for making initial control adjustments are listed as follows:
  1. Start by setting all seven bands at the middle position (zero).
  2. Adjust the bands for the lows (60-150Hz) and the highs (6-15kHz) first, as most car interiors tend to accentuate the mid-range frequencies.
  3. Adjust the mid-range to your preference.
  4. Start with the outer (60Hz and 15kHz) and work toward the center frequency bands.
