Disc Player

1)
Power (POWER)
-
Press
the Power button to turn the unit on. Press again to turn it off.
2) Disc Eject (EJECT)
- Press the Eject button to stop play,
eject the disc, and resume radio operation of the audio system. You can
eject the disc while the unit power and/or ignition is on or off. If the
disc is ejected from the Compact Disc Player, but is not removed from the
Disc Opening (5) within 10 seconds, the player will automatically reload the
disc for storage.
3) Compression (COMP)
- Due to the wide dynamic range of the
Compact Disc Player, soft passages may be difficult to hear under certain
driving conditions while maintaining a reasonable volume level in the louder
passages. The Compression feature will bring these soft and loud passages
closer together for a more consistent listening level. To turn the
compression on, press the Compression button. Press again to turn off. When
on, the Compression Indicator will appear on the Digital Display (13).
4) AM/FM Band Selector (AM/FM)
- Press to select between AM and FM
frequencies and preset stations. Press once to switch from the 5 AM presets
to the first 5 FM presets. Press again to switch to the last 5 FM presets.
Press again to return to the 5 AM presets. The selected presets will appear
on the Digital Display (13) as 'AM', 'FM1', or 'FM2'.
5) Disc Opening (DISC)
- Location for inserting the compact
disc. Insert one disc label side up. When inserted, the disc will
automatically load into the unit and begin play at the beginning of the
first track. The Play Indicator will illuminate, Track Selection will read
'1', and Elapsed Track Time will read '0:00' all on the Digital Display
(13). When the disc reaches the end, the Compact Disc Player will
automatically return to the beginning of the disc and resume playing.
6) Reverse (REV)
- Press to search backwards for a
particular point in a selection. When the Reverse button is pressed and held
down, the disc will be scanned in reverse at low speed for the first 3
seconds, then will switch to a higher speed after 3 seconds. Release the
button at the desired point, which can be found by either watching the
elapsed playing time on the Digital Display (13), or by listening to the
sound during reverse. When you have reached the beginning of track 1, the
Compact Disc Player will begin playing.
7) Fast Forward (FF)
- Press to search forwards for a
particular point in a selection. When the Fast Forward button is pressed and
held down, the disc will be scanned forward at low speed for the first 3
seconds, then will switch to a higher speed after 3 seconds. Release the
button at the desired point, which can be found by either watching the
elapsed playing time on the Digital Display (13), or by listening to the
sound during fast forward. When you have reached the end of the disc by
holding down the Fast Forward button, the Digital Display (13) will show
'END' and the Compact Disc Player will go into pause mode. Push Play/Stop
(11) to begin playing at the first track of the disc.
8) Seek (SEEK </>)
- In radio mode, Seek allows you to automatically select
listenable stations up or down the frequency band. Press the Seek >
button to select the next listenable station up the frequency band. Press
the Seek < button to select the next listenable station down the
frequency band.

- In disc mode, Seek allows you to move
to the next or previous selection on the disc. Press the Seek >
button to move to the beginning of the next track. Press again to move to
the next track and so on. Press the Seek < button to move to the
beginning of the current track. Press again to move to the beginning of the
previous track and so on.

- The Seek buttons can also be used along with the Scan/Tune
button (9) to switch radio frequencies or select disc tracks.
9) Scan/Tune (SCAN/TUNE)
- The Scan/Tune button operates
differently depending on whether the unit is in radio mode or disc player
mode.

- When listening to the radio, pressing the Scan/Tune button enters
the station scan mode or tune mode.
- Scan Mode: Press the Scan/Tune
button once and 'SCN' will appear on the Digital Display (13). Pressing
the top Seek '>' button (8) will begin the scan mode up the frequency
band, stopping on each listenable station for a 5 second sampling. To stop
the scan mode on the presently sampled station, press the top Seek '>'
button (8) again, or the Scan/Tune button. Pressing the bottom Seek '<'
button (8) will begin the scan mode down the frequency band, stopping on
each listenable station for a 5 second sampling. To stop the scan mode on
the presently sampled station, press the bottom Seek '<' button (8) again,
or the Scan/Tune button.
- Tune Mode: Press the Scan/Tune
button twice and 'TUNE' will appear on the Digital Display (13).
In this mode you can change the radio frequency up or down one increment
at a time (FM changes in increments of 200kHz, AM changes in increments on
10 kHz). Within 5 seconds, press the the Seek > button (8) to increment
the frequency or the Seek < button (8) to decrement the frequency. To
change frequencies faster, press and hold either Seek button. While
tuning, the Digital Display (13) will Display a blinking 'M'.
- When listening to a disc, pressing the Scan/Tune button enters
the track scan mode. Once in this mode, pressing
the top Seek '>' button (8) will cause the Compact Disc Player to begin
scanning the disc forward or pressing
the bottom Seek '<' button (8) will cause the Compact Disc Player to
begin scanning the disc backwards. While scanning, the unit will stop on
each track for an 8 second sampling before going to the next track. This
will continue until you press Scan/Tune a second time, or you select another
CD function, such as Fast Forward (7), Reverse (6), Seek (8), Play/Stop
(11), etc.
10) Clock (CLOCK)
- Press to display the clock on the
Digital Display (13). In radio mode, pressing the Clock button will switch
between the radio frequency and the clock display. If you retune the radio
while it's in clock mode, the new radio frequency will be displayed for ten
seconds and then change back to clock. In disc mode, pressing the Clock
button will switch between elapsed time mode, track number mode, and clock
mode. If the track selection is changed while it's in elapsed time mode or
clock mode, the new track number will be displayed for ten seconds and then
change back to the previous mode.

- To set the clock on the Digital Display
(13), press and hold the Clock button and press the bottom Seek '<'
button (8) to set the hours, or the top Seek '>' button (8) to set the
minutes. The is no A.M. or P.M. The clock can be set with the radio and/or
ignition on or off.
11) Play/Stop (PLAY/STOP)
- When a disc is loaded, the unit will
automatically enter play mode and the Play Indicator will appear on the
Digital Display (13). To stop play temporarily, press the Play/Stop button.
The Stop Indicator will appear on the Digital Display (13) and operation
returns to radio mode. To resume disc play, press the Play/Stop button
again. Note: If the ignition is turned off during play and then is set to
the ON or ACC position, the Compact Disc Player will resume playing in the
mode it was in when the ignition was turned off.
12) Preset Memory Buttons (1-5)
- The radio is equipped with 5 Preset
Memory buttons. These buttons can be used to select up to 5 preset AM
stations and 10 FM stations. To select a preset station, first select the
desired AM, FM1, or FM2 frequency band by pressing the AM/FM Band Selector
button (4). Then select one of the Preset Memory buttons which has stored
your desired station.

- To set these buttons to the desired
station:
- Select either the AM or FM band by
pushing the AM/FM Band Selector (4). Push the button to access the first 5
AM presets (Digital Display (13) indicates 'AM'), again to access the
first 5 FM presets (Digital Display (13) indicates 'FM1'), and a third
time to access the last 5 FM presets (Digital Display (13) indicates
'FM2').
- Tune to the desired frequency using
seek (8), or scan (9) tuning.
- Press one of the memory buttons and
hold down for about 2 seconds until the sound returns. That station is now
held in memory on that button.
- Follow the first three steps above
for each Preset Memory button you want to set.
To automatically load stations onto the
Preset Memory buttons, use the Auto Memory Load or Automatic Memory Store
features of the Auto Preset button (14).
13) Digital Display
- Displays all the information relevant
to the radio and disc player.
14) Auto Preset (AUTO PRESET)
- Activates the Auto Memory Load and
Automatic Memory Store features. To activate the Auto Memory Load feature,
press and hold the Auto Preset button for 3 seconds. Auto Memory Load will
set all station memory presets in AM, FM1, and FM2 sequentially by seeking
out the first five strong stations for the respective band and storing them
in Preset Memory Buttons 1-5. The Automatic Memory Store feature is the same
as the Auto Memory Load feature, except you can load stations onto the
presets without loosing your originally set stations. Press the Auto Preset
button once. The radio will set all station memory presets in AM, FM1, and
FM2 sequentially by seeking out the first five strong stations for the
respective band and storing them in Preset Memory Buttons 1-5. 'AUTO' will
be displayed on the Digital Display (13) and the radio will run through all
the frequencies, stopping momentarily on the stations being set into the
memory buttons. To turn off the Automatic Memory Store feature and return to
the original memory presets, press the Auto Preset button again. Note: If
there are less then five strong stations in the frequency band, the
remaining unfilled buttons will store the last strong station detected on
the band.
15) Audio Tone Adjust (AUDIO)
- The Audio Tone Adjust button allows you
to adjust the tone balance and the speaker output. Pressing the Audio Tone
Adjust button allows you to cycle through the following adjustable levels:
- Bass: Allows you to adjust the
lower, bass frequencies of your radio to your preference. Press the Audio
Tone Adjust button repeatedly until the Digital Display (13) shows 'BASS'.
Press the Volume Control + button (16) to increase the bass level, or the
Volume Control - button (16) to decrease the bass level. Note: If your audio
system is equipped with the Graphic Equalizer,
the bass control will be overridden, unless the Defeat button has been pressed.
- Treble: Allows you to adjust
the higher, treble frequencies of your radio to your preference. Press the
Audio Tone Adjust button repeatedly until the Digital Display (13) shows
'TREB'. Press the Volume Control + button (16) to increase the treble level,
or the Volume Control - button (16) to decrease the treble level. Note:
If your audio system is equipped with the Graphic
Equalizer, the treble control will be overridden, unless the Defeat
button has been pressed.
- Balance: Allows you to adjust
the speaker balance to the left or right. Press the Audio Tone Adjust button
repeatedly until the Digital Display (13) shows 'BAL'.
Press the Volume Control + button (16) to shift the sound to the right
speakers, or the
Volume Control - button (16) to shift the sound to the left speakers.
- Fade: Allows you to adjust the
speaker balance to the front or rear speakers. Press the Audio Tone Adjust
button repeatedly until the Digital Display (13) shows 'FADE'.
Press the Volume Control + button (16) to shift the sound to the front
speakers, or the
Volume Control - button (16) to shift the sound to the rear speakers.
- Note: Bars will illuminate on the Digital Display (13) to
represent the levels of bass, treble, and the positions of balance and fade
functions. The bar display will return to the normal volume level after five
seconds.
16) Volume Control (VOL +/-)
- Press the + side of the Volume Control
button to increase the volume. Press the - side of the Volume Control button
to decrease the volume. Bars will illuminate on the Digital Display (13) to
represent the volume level. Note: If the volume level is set above a certain
listening level when the ignition is turned off, when the ignition is turned
back on, the volume will come back on at a nominal listening level. However,
if the unit power is turned off with the Power button (1), the volume will
remain at the level it was set at when the unit power is turned back on.
