Operating Instructions

AM/FM Radio

1) Seek (SEEK </>)

This allows you to automatically select listenable stations up or down the frequency band. Press the Seek > button to select the next listenable station up the frequency band. Press the Seek < button to select the next listenable station down the frequency band.

2) Local/Distant (L/D)

The Local/Distant button is used along with the Seek button (1) to select only the stronger (local) stations or both the stronger and weaker (distant) stations. Normally, the radio will select both the stronger and weaker stations. Pressing the Local/Distant button will display 'LOC' on the Digital Display (9) and will tune into only the stronger stations when using the Seek buttons (1).

3) AM Band Selector (AM)

Press to select the AM frequency band and 6 preset stations. When pressed, 'AM' will appear on the Digital Display (9).

4) FM Band Selector (FM)

Press to select the FM frequency and preset stations. Press once to select the first 6 FM presets. 'FM1' will appear on the Digital Display (9). Press again to select the last 6 FM presets. 'FM2' will appear on the Digital Display (9). Press again to return to the first 6 FM presets.

5) Bass Control Knob (BASS)

Allows you to adjust the lower, bass frequencies of your radio to your preference. Turn the knob to the right to increase the bass level, or to the left to decrease the bass level.

6) Treble Control Knob (TREBLE)

Allows you to adjust the higher, treble frequencies of your radio to your preference. Turn the knob to the right to increase the treble level, or to the left to decrease the treble level.

7) Fade Control Knob (FADE)

Allows you to adjust the speaker balance to the front or rear speakers. Turn the knob to the right to shift the sound to the rear speakers, or to the left to shift the sound to the front speakers.

8) Balance Control Knob (BALANCE)

Allows you to adjust the speaker balance to the left or right. Turn the knob to the right to shift the sound to the right speakers, or to the left to shift the sound to the left speakers.

9) Digital Display

Displays all the information relevant to the AM/FM Radio.

10) Preset Memory Buttons (1-6)

The radio is equipped with 6 Preset Memory buttons. These buttons can be used to select up to 6 preset AM stations and 12 FM stations. To select a preset station, first select the desired AM, FM1, or FM2 frequency band by pressing either the AM Band Selector button (3) or the FM Band Selector button (4). Then select one of the Preset Memory buttons which has stored your desired station.

 

To set these buttons to the desired station:

1. Select either the AM or FM band by pushing either the AM Band Selector button (3) or the FM Band Selector button (4).
2. Tune to the desired frequency using Seek buttons (1) or Tune buttons (12).
3. Press one of the memory buttons and hold down for about 2 seconds until the sound returns. That station is now held in memory on that button.
4. Follow the first three steps above for each Preset Memory button you want to set.

11) Power/Volume Control/Clock (ON/VOL)

Turn the knob clockwise slightly to turn the unit on. Continue turning to increase the volume. To decrease the volume, turn the knob counter-clockwise. To turn the unit off again, turn the knob all the way to counterclockwise.

Press to alternate the clock display and the radio frequency display on the Digital Display (9). In clock mode, pressing any radio function will automatically display the radio frequency for approximately ten seconds, then will change back to the clock display.

To set the clock on the Digital Display (9), turn the radio on, then press and hold the Power/Volume Control/Clock button and press the left Tune '-' button (12) to advance the hours, or the right Tune '+' button (12) to advance the minutes. The is no A.M. or P.M..

12) Tune (TUNE +/-)

Allows you to change the radio frequency up or down one increment at a time (FM changes in increments of 200kHz, AM changes in increments on 10 kHz). Press the the Tune + button to increment the frequency or the Tune - button to decrement the frequency. To change frequencies faster, press and hold either Tune button.
