Analog Instrument Cluster

 

 

1) Battery Voltage Gauge

Indicates the battery voltage.

2) Engine Coolant Temperature Gauge

Indicates the engine coolant temperature when the ignition key is in the 'ACC' or 'ON' position. If the dial reaches the red line, the engine is overheating.

3) Left Turn Signal Indicator

Indicates when the left turn signal has been engaged. To engage the left turn signal, push down on the Turn Signal/Highbeam Switch (Interior).

4) Speedometer

Shows vehicle speed in miles per hour on the outer ring and kilometers per hour on the inner ring. Non-turbocharged models will be limited to reading up to 90 miles per hour while turbocharged models will read up to 120 miles per hour. The speedometer incorporates two counters for measuring distance. The upper counter is the odometer which indicates the total distance the vehicle has been driven. The lower counter is the trip odometer which is used to measure shorter trips. Press the Trip Odometer Reset Button (9) to reset the Trip Odometer to zero.

5) Right Turn Signal Indicator

Indicates when the right turn signal has been engaged. To engage the right turn signal, push up on the Turn Signal/Highbeam Switch (Interior).

6) Tachometer

Measures engine speed in thousands of revolutions per minute (RPM). Each line represents 250 RPM.

Includes separate indicators for the following:

8) Turbo Boost Gauge (GT Only)

Measures boost pressure in pounds per square inch that the turbocharger is providing.

9) Trip Odometer Reset Button

Used to reset the Trip Odometer on the Speedometer (4) to zero.

10) Fuel Level Gauge

Indicates the level of fuel in the fuel tank. The reading may fluctuate during cornering and stopping.

11) Engine Oil Pressure Gauge

Indicates engine oil pressure in pounds per square inch.

12) Indicator Lights

Includes separate indicators for the following:
  • High Beam Indicator: Indicates when the head lamps have been switched to high beams. To engage or disengage the high beams, pull back on the Turn Signal/Highbeam Switch (Interior) and release.
  • Brake System Light: Illuminates when the Parking Brake (Interior) is engaged. If the Brake System Indicator stays on when the parking brake has been fully released, it signifies that the master cylinder reservoir is low on brake fluid.
  • Safety Belt Light: This warning light reminds you to fasten your safety belt. Each time you turn the ignition key 'ON', the Safety Belt Light will illuminate for 4 to 8 seconds. On 1990 through 1992 vehicles, the light also illuminates to alert the driver that the automatic shoulder belt is not latched to the emergency release buckle and will remain illuminated until both shoulder belts are buckled.
