Bob Glidden's 1989 Probe Stock Car

In 1988, Bob Glidden turned in his famous Motorcraft Thunderbird Stock Car for something that would keep him on top... a Ford Probe. With the better aerodynamics, it would take 85 less horsepower to get the car to 200mph. The overall shape needed very little work. With a fiberglass body, rear wheel drive configuration, and a Boss 429 powerplant, Glidden's Probe can do the 1/4 mile in just over 7 seconds, with a top speed of over 200mph.

At the 1988 Supernationals, the very first race for his new Motorcraft Ford Probe, Bob Broke his own NHRA Pro Stock elapsed time record, lowering it to 7.277 seconds.
