Default Sleepy eye button

I put the sleepy eye kit on my car back in april or so and I just chicken banded the button next to the rear defrost button. I just popped one of those little black squares out and chicken banded the button right there. its been looking pretty ghetto, so last night i found the little black square and I drilled a hole in it. I filed it down to the perfect square shape of the button and clipped the square back next to the rear defrost button. the only problem is when you go to push the button, it falls into the dash and you cant push the button anymore. I tried using more chicken bands but that didnt work. lol does anyone have any good ideas? ill put up pics tomorrow if i can remember. If nobody has any ideas, I'm afraid I will have to break out the duck tape.

If it were me id take a trip down to the auto store and find a switch/button that I could screw into a blank.

Something along these lines;
