make a chalk board hood/poor mans paint job !
ok i just went out today and celebrated getting my car squared away and had a little fun with my fading hood... i went to the store and picked up
1. paint tray
2. tiny foam roller
3. rustoleum flat black (pint not can)
4. sand paper
5. krylon chalkboard paint spray (3 cans) I BAUGHT 3 BUT ONLY USED ONE ! so with two you should be fine !
6. paint thinner
steps:
IF YOU HAVE LONG HAIR TIE IT BACK i ended up getting hair in the paint and had to pick it out and respray over it lol
1. scuff up old clear coat till it looks chalky
2. wash the hood with a rag and warm water
3. dry hood then allow to sit for a few minuites
4. mix the rustoleum 50/50 with thinner
5. roll the paint on DONT GLOP THE ROLLER just enough to seep into the roller... if its dripping you got WAYYY TO MUCH
6. do one thin coat allow it to dry for an hour e sure to go over the hood a few times to smooth the paint out well
7. do a medium coat once again being sure its smoothed out by going back over spots occasionally
8. wait an hour then spray on the chalkboard paint.. mak sure you hold the can a foot and a half away from the hood... and go fast dont stay in one area for to long or you wil get globs the paints very thick ! so it covers very well
9. wait about an other hour and enjoy your new hood ! id wait at least 4 hours after it drys to draw on it lol im only going to draw on it for car shows id suggest not driving around town because people may draw penises on it...

i didnt draw on mine yet but you can draw on this after you put 2 coats on washes right off !

haha wow that sounds cool. cant wait to see pics of it! we painted my friends car like that. well just the hood and then she spray painted all the rest of the panels random colors...

it says i <3 whores and i got a new I <3 my probe sticker my old one was ghetto looking so i got this one made by a decal shop int he same lettering as i <3 whores lol and i got the label of wawa brand green tea :P you guys in other states dont know what wawa is its a NJ/PA conveinence store that sells AWEOSME TEAS !!!

not really probe related except that me and my buddy were drivin mine on a road trip from MI to KS but we had never seen a "kum and go" before and being teenagers thought it was hilarious.... we stopped and each got a flask hahahah

I know this is old, but, any tips on painting an aftermarket bumper? It would be almost impossible with a roller because of random curves.

Yeah, a spray can or an hvlp paint sprayer. Sexraptor is the only person i've ever seen paint a car with a roller. Surprisingly it doesnt look half bad! Surprisingly.
