Default Car keeps stalling when at idle and "fuel cutout" light keeps appearing on the dash..

I just purchased a 1994 Ford Probe GT 5 spd. today as a daily driver car. It drove the whole 45 mins home perfectly fine, to work fine, then I went to the autoparts store on my break and as I was leaving, whenever I started the car it would stall when I tried to let it sit at idle. Everytime I let it idle, it will stutter then stall with the fuel cutout light comming on. Also I noticed when driving that it feels like its "breaking up" and hesetating, stuttering aswell. The car drove fine the whole day up until tonight, I have no idea what it can be...bad fuel filter? Dirty injector? Hopefully not a fuel pump....

Please help, I am new to these cars and don't know if its a common problem or an easy fix. Thanks!

im not a pro with the 2nd gens.....but it could possibly be your distributer....those are known to fail all the time on the 2nd gen probes

id get that checked first, then do a good tune up on the car...fuel filter, spark plugs and wires, disty cap and rotor, injector cleaner, oil change, etc.

Start with the fuel filter, people have come on here with their new Probes and the fuel filter looked like it was the one that came with the car 14 years ago

and just so you'll know....the fuel cut out light comes on when the alternator isn't producing enough voltage...such as when the engine is barely turning over.
