it burns really f*cking bad for about 20 minutes, then its just red and puffy for awhile. flush it real well with cold water, and dont rub it.

Hey, while I opened this thread, I thought I'd ask another question on the coolant topic.

One of my (heater?) hoses went bad...can I replace it with the same size coolant hosing?

I noted the distinct "swoop" each of the heater hoses had...and was wondering if this would necessitate the same replacement hose.

thank you for your help monoxide, much appreciated.

Actually, this incident appears to have not caused any harm at all, thankfully.

Hey any idea about the coolant hose? Can I just use a length of coolant hose from an auto place or whatever?

personally, id get a new one from mazda. but thats cause im overly safe. theres obviousely a reason that loops there, and the motor doesnt move enough to use that as a reason. maybe to help with air bubble's or something.

maybe some one else could be a better help. but with my experience. everything about our cars had alot of thought into it, and usually, they had a good reason for it. this could be one of them.

worst case scenerio, u install a normal chunk of hose, it starts to over heat, u shut it down before any damage, and buy a OEM hose.

i have had coolant/brakefluid/atx fluid/oil/gas/pb blaster/dif fluid, all kinds of automotive fluids in my eyes, the only thing i can say is that most of the chemicals listed above hurt like hell in the eye.

i have also had coolant in open wounds and have accidentaly soaked my hands in antifreeze for a few hours straight (radiator hose issues with my neon) and the only negative effects i noticed were that regardless of what i washed my hands with they still smelled like coolant, the went slightly numb and dried out really bad, nothin else.

if your creative and do a really good job you could run a normal heater hose that isnt all formed....

i think oven cleaner in open cuts is probably the worst

You die if you swallow anti-freze. It attacks your nervous system.
