Question swaping to a 93 mx3 mazda engine

Hey guys i am not sure if anyone remebers me but a while back my car(94 2.2 probe) broke down. Just today i got a mazda engine from a 93 mx3 or something like that . I got from the junk yard but it seems that someone took good care of it it had resent NGK spark plug wires/Spark plugs also the cover was polished to chrome like shine and it seemed not to have major oil leaks . I found a little one on the timing chain cover the mechanic said he will fixed that. Any ways my queston is this :

Do you guys think this engine was a bad idea ? does it have less HP than the original or maybe more ?

Cool

welcome back brother, well anyways,it is not likely this engine will fit without some work(i.e. motormounts, diff. tranny, diff. wiring harness)as far as i know this engine is smaller then the 2.0 probe, hence your tranny wont bolt up,hope this helps

I'm so confused...first of all, ur posting in the 1st gen section about a 2nd gen with a 1st gen engine, and you want to put pretty much a 2nd gen engine back into it?! wtf?!?! your profile says that it has a 2.0 engine in it, not the 2.2...if you really do have the 2.0, are you sure your car isn't working specifically because of the engine? because if it's something else, odds are dropping in a new engine will just be money down the hole if it doesn't fix the real problem. As for the engine fitting, I think the mx3's had a 1.8? can anyone verify this? anyway, i'm not so sure it has the 2.0 in it, so the motor mounts might not fit up. It's worth a try...break out some chiltons or haynes manuals and try to figure out the placement of the mounts on both. also, you could try mx6.com and see if anyone on there has put the mx3 engine in their mx6.
best of luck to ya...

Default swap or what are we talking about.

Im confused too the mazda mx3 came witha 4cyl like 110 hp and then a 1.8 v6 qith like 130hp. now if you got a mx3 with the v6 I would dump in a klze. But if you trying to swap the 4 or v6 from the mx3 into a first gen then its a no go. even in a 2nd gen you would want to.

the 4 banger out of the mx3 is a BP, the same motor as escorts, protege's, 323's. the block itself is very much like our f2t, but a smaller version. now the chance of it fitting in a 1st gen is do-able, but it would take quite a bit of work. most likely custom motor mounts, and axles at least

the thought of a bp swap is doable, i personally have allwasy wanted to do a bpt swap into a 2nd gen. i believe it is possible, based solely on the fact the mx3 came with both the bp, and a kl series motor, so theretically if both can be in the mx3, swap out a few parts of the mx3, such as the cross members, and fab a few things, it could be very do-able.

hope that gives you some things to think about.

Ok i am sorry guys !! !
To Clear this up ... this engine looks exactly like the 2.0 4 cyl engine that came out of my car but instead of ford it says mazda on it . My question is then does this engine is mor powerfull than the old one ?
I think the Junkyard guys screwd up and so did i when i posted it . SRY
Anyways if you look at the enghine it look exactly like to original ford but with a chrome cover or polished cover that says MAZDA. !!
