alot of people dont run them. not a good idea IMO. alot of times, you can adapt the stock bracket to work. if not, just fab up another bracket. its something pretty easy to do using just random steel stock, a drill, and a cut off wheel.

so its usually the bracket getting in the way? just chopping off some of the plastic should get me the clearance needed?

that entirely depends on your turbo set up since no two are really the same. even if we both had the exact same turbo's, our flages on our manifold could be slightly different. only way for you to know is toss the turbo on, then test fit the fan.

i would be careful cutting the shroud. it will affect how air flows thru it. I had to install my turbo, then drop the fan in, and then drop the rad in, and attach the fan to the rad. I'm going to get you a pic. There is no reason you should have to modify anything to make room for the compressor of a t3 60 trim, especially since you have external wastegate, and mine fits with an internal wastegate.

ok, i will probably try that first, since my wastegate is set at 5psi, im thinking of slapping it on soon and just running mega low boost that way i can give my brother my turbo and exhaust, i think he blew a turbo seal, and i know his exhaust is filled with holes. if i can get mine off i can give him my old one so we both win.
oh ya, where is a good location for me to put my o2 sensors? my t3 manifold doesn't have any spots for sensors. i could tap and weld in two bungs though, one for the stock narrow band and one for a wideband. idk why my manifold has no spots for sensors. i think there isn't one. there may be 1 though, but if any, just 1 spot. so where do you think i should tap the spots at?
do ebay fans totally suck?
and just for curiosity, at what psi would a 60 trim outflow a stock turbo at 14psi?

narrowband, try to keep it near the stock location, wideband is supposed to be about 16" downstream.

What would you do about running a wide band if you had an open dp? Would it hinder the reading having the wideband o2 sensor close to the end of the dp?

Depends on how close to the end i know you can get a clip on wb the sensor that bolts on the muff tip and extends in a few inches

hey, would the stock bpv be fine with a 60 trim or would it overload it?

I am using stock everything, piping, VAF, bpv, intercooler, ecu (not chipped), etc, etc...
The stock piping and cooler help to keep the power down until such a time, I can tune everything correctly, and the unchipped ecu makes sure I don't exceed factory tune. I don't know how much the bpv can take, but mine is fine.

when i got my Autometer wideband setup, the instructions said for a turbocharged car to put it 4-6 inches after the turbo iirc, i think i put mine about 6 inches past the stock narrowband
