2.2L 4-Cylinder Turbo Engine
The
first generation Probe GT uses a non-standard coil as part of its ignition system.
Because of this, there are no direct fit upgrades for the coil. However, an
aftermarket coil can be installed by simply cutting the coil's wires and lengthening
them.

Removal
- Mount
the aftermarket coil.
- Disconnect
the two-wire connector at the bottom of the ignition coil.
- Cut
off the connector and attach enough wire to each of the two original wires
to reach the coil. Make sure the connections are secure.
- Place
heat shrink tubing or electrical tape over the connections.
- Connect
the black/white wire (positive) to the positive side of the new coil.
- Connect
the yellow wire (negative) to the negative side of the new coil.
- Attach
the ignition wire from the distributor to the new coil.
