A solenoid actuated boost controller is when the factory solenoid valve is forced open. To do this, 12 volts must be applied to the solenoid tricking it into opening.
A solenoid actuated boost controller is a good idea if you want an increased boost level at the flip of a switch.
Turbo Hoses
The image below is a view from the intake side of the turbocharger. The solenoid's function involves three hoses:

Boost Solenoid
The boost solenoid is located just below the turbo inlet on the intake side. In the image below, the three hose connections as described above are labeled.

Solenoid is upside down compared
to actual mounting position.
Tools/Parts Required
Scissors or knife
Copper valve
Toggle switch
About 10' of electrical wire
Procedure
Install the toggle switch at a spot accessible from the driver's seat.
Run a wire from a 12 volt power source under the dash or console, such as the cigarette lighter. If you can't find one, run it from the battery. Connect it to the toggle switch.
Run another wire from the other side of the toggle switch to the solenoid valve. Cut the brown/yellow wire from the solenoid valve and connect the solenoid side of the wire to the wire from the switch.
Cut hose #3 at the mid point. Insert the valve between the sections.
With the toggle switch ON, open the valve only a very small amount and drive the vehicle to see how high the boost level reaches.
Repeat step 5, opening the valve a bit each time until the boost level is at the desired level.
