The
2.5L V6 utilizes a fully electronic ignition system which is controlled by the
Powertrain Control Module. This includes six ignition wires, all of which connect
the distributor to the spark plugs.
Overview
To
remove the spark plug wires, first twist the boot to break any seal present.
Then grip the midsection of the boot (around where the connector is internally)
and gently pull while twisting. When replacing the spark plug wires, it's best
to work by removing and replacing them one by one, starting with the longest
wire first. This insures that there is no mistakes made in the spark plug wire
order.
