Automatic Transaxle Self Test: 1996-97 2.5L V-6 Engine w/4EAT Automatic Transaxle [Print Page]
Overview The 'Overdrive Off' light or ODL on the instrument cluster illuminates when the button on the gear selector is pressed. This means that the automatic transaxle will no longer switch to the overdirve gear. If the light blinks after the engine is started or while driving, there may be a problem with the transaxle. Checking for error codes is an easy way to find out what's wrong and what, if anything, caused the 'Check Engine' light to illuminate. Unlike previous models, there's only one way to retrieve the codes from the computer... a OBD-II compatible scanner. Simply connect it according to the manufacturer's instructions and write down the codes that appear.
